Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women (PW) offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. For more than 200 years Presbyterian women’s groups have strengthened the Presbyterian Church and played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom. And in 2013, Presbyterian Women celebrates 25 years of praying and working together as “Presbyterian Women,” the organization created with the reunited Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Monthly Mission Focus

Each month PW focus their mission efforts in supporting a agency to meet the needs of our community.
  • January - Meadville Area Schools – sweatpants, socks, underwear, winter hats & gloves are needed for the school students.
  • February - Church World Service’s Blanket + offering.
  • March - The Greenhouse/St. James Haven. - Laundry detergent, paper supplies, personal hygiene items specifically requested by these two safe havens.
  • April - Food Pantry items or monetary donations for the pantry.
  • May - "First Night Kits" to be donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)  The items requested are: small stuffed animals, books, small flash lights, toothbrushes, small tubes of toothpaste.  CASA will turn these items over to Children and Youth Services to be given to children placed in foster homes.
  • June, July and August - Please remember to support our Church Food Pantry during the summer months! Also, monetary donations to provide school kits for Fairview/Fairmont students.
  • September - Diapers for Fairview/Fairmont.
  • October - Meadville Area Free Clinic - toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and other personal hygiene items.
  • November - Food Pantry items or monetary donations for the pantry.
  • December - The Greenhouse  - unwrapped items for children to give their mothers for Christmas.  Gift paper, bows, tags and tape.  Also, household items can be donated at any time to the Greenhouse to help women start a new household.
These projects are subject to change if a need arises.  Reminders and changes to the monthly projects will be shared at your Circle Meeting and via the church bulletin.
