The First Presbyterian Church of Meadville

-- After a great deal of prayerful consideration, the Session of the Church has decided to begin holding worship services once again, beginning on Sunday July 5th. This will include an 8:30AM service to be held in Fellowship Hall, as well as a 10:00AM service in the sanctuary. Sunday worship services will be broadcast only on our designated Sunday per Armstrong cable. You can still view all of our Sunday services by visiting the church's Facebook page or here on our website (services usually uploaded within 24 hours).
-- Worship will be planned in accordance with public health guidelines. This will include modification to our normal practices to ensure the safety of those who choose to join us. Posters will be on display to help educate anyone with regard to COVID-19 and distancing protocols.
-- The Session requests your help in the following areas: If anyone is ill or has been exposed to COVID-19 you are asked to remain at home. Those with underlying medical conditions or are over 65 years of age are to give worship attendance prayerful consideration. People will be asked to keep physical distance at all times and practice good hand hygiene. We strongly recommend that all persons wear a mask when they are in the Church. Children are to remain with their parents at all times as the Church is unable to provide a nursery at this time.
-- We all look forward to the day when we can return to "normal" but until that time we are thankful for the opportunity to return in this limited manner. For further information, we encourage you to contact the Church office.
-- The food pantry is still operating, but clients will be asked to remain outside the office, rather than entering as before.
We want to stay connected during this anxious and uncertain time, and are working on ways to support one another through this temporary period of “social distancing.” Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have a pastoral need, or are self-quarantining: the church office is open during the week to receive phone calls.
We will be making updates on this website as developments occur. The situation is fluid and we will strive to communicate accurate information to you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
- Sympathy to Sam and Kendra Fischer and Family on the death of Kendra's grandmother, Lois Wellmon, on May 25.
- Congratulations to our graduating seniors: Elizabeth Adams, Braden Green and Kloey Peterson.
Deacon News: The Board of Deacons is officially on recess for the summer months. We thank out-going Deacons Rachel Claspy, Sandy Cupper, Marilyn Gushard, and Juanita Shutsa for their years of service. You’ll be missed! The Food Pantry has been operational during the Covid-19 shutdown and will continue its mission throughout the summer. Thank you to those who have generously donated during these unprecedented times. Donations continue to be welcomed through the church office.
