Senior Pastor
The Rev. Benjamin Black Rev. Benjamin Black comes to Meadville from the First Presbyterian Church of Cambridge, Massachusetts, which sits midway between Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University. Rev. Black served there as Solo Pastor for six years. Rev. Black is an Erie native who was ordained in the PC(USA) under the care of the Lake Erie Presbytery. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from Malone University in Ohio, he married his high school sweetheart, Sarah. The two of them moved to South Hamilton, MA where Ben earned his Master of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In his free time, Ben is an avid outdoorsman, foraging mushrooms and spending as much time in God’s creation as time allows. He is passionate about music and has recently added the banjo to the list of instruments he plays, alongside acoustic and bass guitar and trombone. He loves to sing and participate in the church choir. Ben resides in Meadville with his wife and his two daughters, Madeline and Hope. |
Director of Music
Kevin Dill Kevin has been the Music Director at First Presbyterian since 2006. He earned his B.Mus from the University of Victoria and his M.Mus from the University of Alberta in his native Canada. He also holds the Associateship Diploma from the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and in 2009 was a finalist in the RCCO's National Organ Playing Competition. In addition to serving the congregation of First Presbyterian, Kevin is on the staff of Allegheny College as a choral and vocal accompanist. Kevin is married to Sonya Eagles-Dill, who is the Administrative Assistant at First District Elementary School, and together they are the parents of two teenagers. |
Coordinator of Elementary Programming
Vickie Fischer Vickie joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church in December of 2018. Her wish to serve the Lord and her love of children are her inspirations to fulfil the responsibilities of her position. Vickie retired from the Crawford Central School District in 2013 after 35 years teaching business and computer classes at the middle school and high school. Vickie and her husband Bob have been members of First Presbyterian for over 25 years. They have two grown sons and two grandchildren living in Meadville. Vickie enjoys being with family, reading, and watching Hallmark Channel movies. |
Financial Secretary
Kris Lubomski Kris walked through the doors of First Presbyterian Church in the fall of 2010. At that time, she was applying for a childcare position; unbeknownst to her, God had a different plan. On October 1, 2010 she started her calling as Financial Secretary of First Presbyterian Church. Kris is the church’s bookkeeper, secretary to the Board of Trustees, and editor of the monthly newsletter. She also collaborates with the Administrative Assistant who oversees the daily operation of the church office. Kris grew up in the Catholic church. She studied psychology and business at the University of Pittsburgh, and was previously a bookkeeper for her family’s business. She is a caregiver to her disabled husband, John. Kris gives all glory to God for who she is today. |
Administrative Assistant
Mary Zahora Mary has been employed at First Presbyterian Church for 25 years. She was born and raised in Crawford County. Mary's husband, Dennis, is a Realtor for Howard Hanna Real Estate in Meadville. They have two sons, and love spending time with their three grandsons. Mary enjoys her family, friends, and Bible Studies. She also has a strong love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. |
Custodian
Elijah Boyd Elijah joined our staff in 2011. He has lived in Meadville for most of his life. Elijah is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our building and grounds. He has a son and a daughter. Elijah keeps God in his life first, and prays for those who need prayer. |
